This was a custom script I wrote for a friend of mine who was trying to learn lucid dreaming and wanted to take advantage of my experience with hypnosis to help her. My initial "interview" determined that she already had all the steps in place, and was just having trouble with the details, like staying in the dream when she realized it was a dream, and things like that.
I also knew one of her core beliefs had to do with a series of books about "Seth" who among other things, doesn't believe in the conscious and subconscious, but does belief that the consciousness we experience is a tiny slice of our "true" nature, and that dreaming is an experience of the broader nature of that consciousness. She also visited another hypnotist before, who told her to use self-hypnosis for whatever problem she asked help with at the time, and was able to use that to eventually solve her problem. I also know that she was raised on a ranch, and has a particular love of horses and riding.
Anyway, you may notice this script is very vague in specific suggestions or commands, after the initial induction at least, and focuses on directing her to use the knowledge she already has.
I have already recorded the "formal" induction for her use as necessary. But I thought I would share it with the group just for fun, and welcome any input that anyone would like to offer. I have replaced my friend's name with the word "friend".

Hello, friend. Its time to relax and think about dreaming for a while. A lot of hypnotists will tell you to listen closely, to the sound of my voice, but you don't have to allow that sound to... embrace you completely, any more than you need to relax more and more, because even if you don't notice your breathing, as it gradually becomes slower, and deeper, it means that your mind is taking care of you, and doing just what is so good for it to do, allowing you to relax. Its not important to notice, the rhythmic motions of your body, as you breathe, so comfortably, or the way your heart continues to beat, with a pulse that relaxes every muscle in your body. Its good to know, isn't it, how many wonderful things... you've learned in your life, like how to drive. At first, there was so much to think about, so many rules, that it wasn't... easy to relax, and just let that learning happen. But there came a point, when you began to find, each little learning, becoming more and more automatic, to the point where, one by one, they became a part of you, didn't they? And by now, you can remember a time, or perhaps many times, when you were driving, on a quiet and familiar road, and began to drift, into a special state of consciousness, where the things you learned, happened by themselves, allowing you to just enjoy, more and more, that growing relaxation, that growing comfort, of going inside.
Inside, the vast universe of your thoughts. Because your mind is not a tiny speck, or a place within your head, it is a limitless ocean, a sea of consciousness, spreading throughout the cosmos, every thought a ripple upon the surface, carried through reality, to every corner of existance. And upon that ocean, there is a ship of dreams, a fantastic vessel, carried lovingly by the waves, crewed by a sense of adventure, fed with a thirst for new learnings, a ship of dreams, that can take you anywhere... you want to go. Because a ship of dreams, glides effortlessly, and smoothly, safer, more comforting than a bumpy road, without traffic, only clear skies, deep crystal blue waters, waters that carry you like a cloud, endless horizons awaiting your visitation.
How many of those countless worlds, know the story of the lost horse, who appeared on a farm one day that was not her home. The wisest woman on the farm, friend, knew just what to do. She climbed upon the horse, and set off down the road. She didn't need to think about remembering what to do, because all the little learnings had become automatic. She had ridden so many times before, and had so many wonderful dreams, that both were automatic. She didn't need to remember, to watch for signs, because, like that familiar road, the way was known. The fears she used to have, were so distant now, faded with time, into a distant past beyond her reach. Because every time she rode, or dreamed her dreams of riding, a child's fears became a woman's love, a passion, a sense of adventure, a symbol of freedom, and of choice.
Because this woman, the wisest woman of the farm, friend, knew what to do. From time to time, the horse had heard a barking dog on a neighboring farm, and used to stray off the road into the cool grass, but the woman had a goal, and she would gently guide her back on the road. From time to time, she had seen the tasty clover, and left the road to nibble, but the woman had a goal, and she would gently guide her back on the road. She left the reigns alone, she sat back and enjoyed the ride, the new sights, the new sounds, all the new learnings she was having, now.
And when she reached her goal, when the horse came to a stop in front of a barn she had never seen before, the farmer came out, excited to see the horse. He asked how this wise woman knew how to... reach a place, she had never gone before, but needed to reach, wanted to reach, and reached so easily. This wise woman, Darby, had one reply. I didn't know how to find it. But the horse knew. All I had to do, was keep her on the road.
And if that woman had known, about the ship of dreams, gliding smoothly, effortlessly, to fantastic new horizons, would she have let its waves guide her, trusting the crew to set the sails, trusting the waves to know the way. How fantastic would it feel, to reach those new horizons, to delight in the journey, and let it happen so quickly, she barely knew she left the port.
Just like that familiar road, where you lost track of time, and the car seemed to drive itself. Did you forget your thoughts, while the terrain whizzed by outside. How surprising is it, to wake up at the end of your journey, a thing that happened instantly you, while those lines and stripes whizzed by outside. How relaxed, how rested and at peace, was that awakening, when you yawn, and stretch, and realize the power of your own mind, to take something that once seemed so complicated, and learn how easy it became.
As you yawn and stretch, you might choose to wake up quickly, or take 5 seconds to come awake again, feeling so refreshed, enjoying the experience you've had, the learnings you've absorbed so deeply. 1, blinking your eyes, 2, stretching your muscles, 3, yawning out loud, 4, vision focusing, 5, awake and feeling fantastic. I trust you'll enjoy learning from all the journeys that await you all the rest of your life.
