I just came across a website from a hypnotherapist who offers 10 hour sessions. He starts the session at 8am and stops at 6pm. The client will stay hypnotized 10 hours.
Has anybody here experience with such long sessions? I never heard of such long sessions before and wonder how this is.

Why not?
If that's what it takes and clients are willing...

might want to leave time for food, and potty breaks. probably won't need to allow time for a nap though.
In terms of delivering for 10 hours .... wow...as the hypnotist I would want a break after 3 or so hours.
Well Robert, since the client is in trance you may take all the breaks you need:)
If you were unscrupulous you might even carry on with the business of the day and leave that client in the chair.

This is not something new in terms of research, but I see no value in it for therapy purposes....I vaguely recall an experiment were a volunteer was hypnotised for several days, and during this time was fed from an imaginary apple tree, and perhaps required no potty breaks, since non were mentioned. Sounds reasonable since no actual intake of food occured. On the other hand, what purpose is served by such prolonged sessions? A client can be sent on a holiday in the space of fifteen minutes by time compression. Solve a difficult problem in that same amount of time, be given post hypnotic suggestions in two minutes, so I see no value at all in a ten hour session except perhaps as an advertising draw, or to use paying clients for research purposes, which of course would be rather unethical.. Why not ask him?

Hi Terry,
I know Parkhill and others do long sessions because it can take a while when rooting out cancer causes or similar.
Additionally, clients may have travelled thousands of miles for services. Waiting a week between 1 hour sessions can get expensive on hotel bills.

This one here does it only with people who live far away from him and need to travel to visit him. So he says with this one very long session he gets the same results that he normally gets after around 8 weeks.

Seems like a long time to work with anyone but I suppose retention is good since it is after all hypnosis (G).... Thank you for checking, even if Merlin did give that same information, it is always nice to get confirmation from the source....
