Some people say that only 20% will and Elman says everyone can.

Which is it?

Who are these mysterious, nameless, "some people?"

What, specifically, is "deep hypnosis?" Deeper than what?

Everyone can. We have the skill. The client is only a participant.

You have found LeCron, have you not?

Deep is relative if you read Merlin's FAQ. There are two levels of hypnosis.
1. hypnotized and 2. not hypnotized.

LeCron's had six stages of hypnosis from 1964 [light - relax, eye & arm cat. heavy or floating and full body cat] , [medium - smell or taste change number block, anesthesia, analgesia] then we go to deep -[positive or negative hallucinations, anesthesia, Esdaile state]. LeCron put in the 20% (of people that had never been in trance before). Both Elman and Erickson said that was wrong. It's outdated and no longer of any use. There may still be some old fogies out there that believe that garbage. You will also find Aaron's depth scale which is also outdated. Then we have the "wonderful" people that say that trance is learning about how to go into a trance. It's not a learning experience. Again, the skill lies with US! Sure, the more one does anything, the easier it becomes. I put myself into "deep" in my dreams but then I awaken -- darn it. My mind learns well.

Be well~Pood :)
