I've been trying for a while to make some simple posthypnotic suggestions. Yesterday i tried to make myself have goosey all over when i heard a specific song. I tried to times, i went into a relaxed state, and afterwards i told myself to feel so, when hearing the song. The first time i tried, nothing happened at all. The second time i got goosey all over after listining to the song for like 30 seconds. I then decided to retry again today. But when i then played the song nothing really happened. Any idea of what i might be doing wrong?

What process are you using for this self-hypnosis?

Well, first i lie down on my bed, close my eyes. An then i start to focus my attention in my left arm, and then my right and the the legs etc. until i've covered my whole body. Then i start to make suggestions like: "When I wake up, i'll get goosey all over when i hear .. (song title)" And so I tell myself 3 times or more, with some variation. Also suggest: "When i hear (song title) i'll feel like a light wind touching my arms and my body, not in an uncomfortable way, just very pleasant. And this wind will cause my hair (at my arms etc.) to raise.. and ill have this sensation of shiver in my whole body.
Then after some time ill count from 1 to 10, telling myself ill awake fully alerted and refresh at 10. And then ill go play the song.

Hi, Daniel.

I think that explains the situation. Simply put, you were relaxed, not hypnotized. I would respectfully suggest getting some training, or at least reading some books on hypnosis.

Ok, you might be right. The only book i've read on the subject is "The theory and practice of hypnotism, og: Self-hypnosis and scientific self-suggestion" by William J. Ousby.

Ill try to lend some more books at the library then.
