Either a book of his own or a third-party written book.

Interested in Milton, huh?
I would start out with "Patterns of the Hypnotic Techniques of Milton H. Erickson, MD, Volume I and II" by Bandler and Grinder
and then for some fun reading and also very educational I would read Training Trances by John Overdurf & Julie Silverthorn
I might then read about Milton and his POV's in Phoenix by David Gordon & Maribeth Meyers-Anderson. (The beginning is a bit boring but then it really picks up)
I would also buy the Zebu cards for practice.
After you have digested all of that and fully understand it, you just may want to take a look at our "Suggested Reading List" which is on Merlin's FAQ.
Lastly, you HAVE TO develop a great love of purple and learn to speak in a gravely voice. LOL!!

I concur with Poodle, great recommendations there. Patterns 1 and Training Trances are two books I recommend more than any other in this regard.
You would also be wise to get hold of Uncommon Therapy by Jay Haley about Erickson and My Voice Will Go With You by Rosen. These two books will give you an insight into his attitude, his expectation, his assumptions, his genius and his sense of humor and his willingness to go beyond what the literature may have suggested was possible.

To clear up any confusion, I sent a PM to Anthony about the name of the book he mentioned above. It is the classic: My Voice Will Go With You. Please forgive the mistaken title -- we spend most of our lives in trance or should that be entranced. It's a good book and I think you will enjoy it.
