I tried hypnosis for the first time today with my girlfriend and afterwards she was really sleepy and it seemed to work but how do I tell if she is faking it? Are there any tests you can perform to be completely sure? Like any behaviour that most people cannot do at will outside of a trance?
The thing is I want to believe that I did it but she is a good liar and she does a lot of things to save my feelings, any help would be appreciated.
:) Thanks. :)

If you had had proper in-person training, you would not be asking this question.
First problem is that it's your friend. Friends or family do not make the best clients as they view you as you instead of the you-an expert at hypnotherapy.
If you would have searched this forum, you would have found what cannot be faked. Deep trance, suggest room is very, very, very, very dark and then ask client to open eyes. Shine a flashlight into the eyes. If the pupil grows smaller due to light shining in eye you will know "friend" is faking.
There are also more subtle ways to tell. Often in trance, eyes will tear a little, after emerging the eyes will be red. There are many, many ways a professional can tell.
Since you have an interest, find a in-person training that's just right for you. They range from 3 days, 100 hours or months. You will have the answers and the skills you seek. I also invite you to read Merlin's FAQ's. There is a lot of information in there.

I couldn't have answered that any better Pood..
Conca, Its great that you are interested in hypnosis, Its a very rewarding career, which can also be a lot of fun. But if you are needing to ask yourself questions about it, maybe you should seriously look into professional training.
I often attend stage hypnosis shows, And I can tell when a "subject" is playing along, I'm sure every professionally trained hypnotist/hypnotherapist on this forum can. There are many signs of trance which cannot be faked, wouldn't it be great to join those of us who know what they are? Professional training is the answer my friend.
