One with more hypnowheels or hypnowheel pattern background. :)

Thanks! It's cool:)
It may be my computer so I don't know if it's an issue. The font for the headers of each section are kind of smeared, I mean the General Public and Open Topics (http://www.hypnosisforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=6) , etc...

They are perfect - crisp and clear on mine. RU using a laptop or a tower? I've noticed often if I do not have the laptop in the perfect position I get that with Vista. It changes EVERYTHING!! I'm using very soft light blue with darker blue with white characters. Long Live XP!!
Hugs~Pood :)
PS - I do like this new tan but it does delete Dr. Matt's trademark of the hypnowheel pocketwatch and I believe the saying above is what Taffye has as his signature??
parsa - it's the font, most likely, combined with your browser - what browser are you using? It's a "fantasy" font, which is fairly cursive. Sometimes it's blurry with certain browsers...haven't tested it on internet explorer 8 yet.
I'll make it a little bigger, and see if that helps - let me know if it clears up!!
Connie - great idea! I'll work on that one tonight. :D

Thanks Maya and Poodle.
I am using a laptop and I use Internet Explorer 6.
Anyway it's fine with me I just thought it may be a general issue but it's not so no worries:)

Crisp and clear on mine too.
And I can't remember where or when I came across that quote :(
ps, I like the purple

I found it too and it's here to stay. Tan was looking like HGTV, blue was old but this purple rocks!! :D
The quote is general wisdom, and I've heard it just a few times from one Dr. Matt James. I thought it appropriate :) I like the skin a lot, although I can't take credit - I've made the skin using colours and images from www.huna.com, as there are a few hypnosis ones already and I thought there might be a few huna students who'd like to use it. I'll be changing the icon at the top to something fancier, and I plan on keeping the quote in there. :) All I can say to Taffy is...great minds think alike? ;)
I will most definitely make a hypnosis-specific skin as well, something different than what is there on the list already. Clean up the hypnosis wheel and stick some designs in somewhere. I have tomorrow off work, so I'll probably end up doing that tonight when I should be cleaning the house. Ha! Making skins is much more fun, says I.

New skin - hypnotic - I really dislike the way thread posts are on striped backgrounds so I"ll be fiddling with it more soon.

Some comments re: the skin hypnotic:
1) I'd prefer the boarder to go all the way to the edge of the browser window.
2) The white background is a bit too stark. Perhaps a touch of color or grey added to it?
3) The font appears to be very clean and readable. I like the way it appears here.
4) The dark blue of the borders and the purple at the top of each post are sooooo Microsoft. In other words, very dated. The lighter purpose text against the darker purple works very well.
Re: forum special skin:
1) Same as point one above, only the borders that aren't used are even wider, here. Reminds me of the good ol' days when we designed sites for smaller monitors.
2) What happened to the Samarkan font for default entry of text? :( (I believe you had it listed as "fantasy") It's in some places but not in all places.
3) I'm not a fan of this color scheme.
4) The brownish color bars have a pattern (I imagine they're an image). It's subtle and very, very nice.
Re: the forum purple skin:
1) Unfortunately, it's too pastel for my tastes.
2) The background for where text is entered could be a bit lighter so the text could stand out a bit more. Alternatively, a slightly heavier font could be used as the default.
Re: Your sig:
What proof do we have that you're not a frakin' toaster?:eek::)
Don:
I do need to design a skin for smaller monitors, as netbooks are becoming increasingly popular. Want to have one skin that is going to work on those types of screens. Thanks for reminding me.
I nicked those brown patterns from huna.com. ;)
The fantasy font was gorgeous, but I had several complaints of it being too difficult to read - so I left it in some areas but not all. I love it too, but not all of us have 20/20 vision. ;)
I suppose I'm confused as to the Microsoft point - can you be more specific as to what needs to change? In one point, you say that the blue and purple are dated, but in the next you say that the lighter text against dark backgrounds works very well, so I'm confused as to which you're commenting on. The stark backgrounds are actually two-tone and diagonally striped - but I think it's too subtle to see, so I might play with that a bit still.
In other news, I didn't make the "Hypnosis Forum Purple" - it was here the whole time! ;)

PS - no proof, just my word. Ready to trust? ;)
EDIT: Did MAJOR edits on "hypnotic" - wasn't paying attention and one thing led to another...sorry about that.
EDITEDIT: Updated "special" top image.
And of course, what I wrote, and should have pointed out, is just my opinion. YMMV.
I think that a light color (in this case, purple) can work out very nicely against a darker version of the same color.
Re: the stark backgrounds actually being diagonally striped. I'm using Safari on an older (Older? It's only about 4 years old!) Mac PowerBook G4. I have the brightness on the monitor turned all the way up. That may be why I don't see the 2-tones or striping.
However, in this case, the choice of dark blue and purple reminds me so very much of the colors used so often by Microsoft way back in the 20th century.
Anyway, these are just my 2¢ being thrown in...that's what they're worth, so if you don't like what I threw in, feel free to throw them out.;D
Loved your feedback, just wanted to make sure I was interpreting it right! ;D
Let me know what you think of the hypnotic skin now, it's wildly different.

Re: hypnotic: Nice!!!! Nice hypnowheel bars. :) And I like the spinning ones on the left, too!! (Except I wish they were moving clockwise and not counterclockwise---guess there's no pleasin' some people!! ;) )
...so weird and funny...why is it that instinctually I want to change them to rotate clockwise as well?? Is that because I live in the northern hemisphere?
I think it's fascinating, but I'll have to live with it for awhile...
I note that if you scroll down to the bottom, the "Previous Thread" and "Next Thread" links are difficult to read, as is the time.

at it on XP with my large monitor but the screen on my laptop is even larger. I LOVE the purple -- so very hypnotic, is it not Milton my deer.
I cannot see any type of striping and where in the heck are the supposed "hypnowheels" supposed to be?
The purple is different skin from the blue "hypnotic" - on hypnotic there are hypnowheels on the main page where the forums are listed. A new post in a forum shows a spinning wheel. And the stripes are diagonally through the backgrounds - grey and blue. It's subtle, more for texture than anything else.

Hypnowheels are for Hypnosis.
They are not a sign of NLP, TLT, Huna.
The colour looks very, very blue to me instead of the purple that Don hates. Do you like lilacs Don? Maybe Maya could do a soft lilac colour with the white lettering. Would you like that?
I still cannot see any striping.
It's been changed since the purple - I was fiddling with the purples and suddenly realised that i'd completely revamped the skin to be blue. I should actually just make this in purple as well...that might be really rad. Uncle Miltie would love that.
okay back to work with me. Lunchbreak is over!

Hypnotic Purple doesn't suit my aging eyesight, and love the new smileys  How about a "thumbs up", and/or a beer glass and wine glass to offer someone a drink as a "thank you" ;D
