I apologize if this has been asked before (I couldn't pull up any related subjects in the search engine), but:
I was wondering if it were possible, by means of hypnosis or NLP, to change certain aspects of one's personality. For instance, if a person wanted to become more analytical, charming, witty, et cetera, could he or she accomplish such traits by allowing his or herself to be hypnotized, or by studying NLP techniques?
Also, is it possible to have a reversed subconscious? (i.e. where your conscious mind may desire something but your subconscious mind objects to it).
Thanks in advance,

Hi Don,
Thanks for replying.
Would any hypnotist be able to assist me in changing the desired aspects of my personality? Is this something that I can accomplish on my own through use of hypnosis tapes or CD's?
And since my subconscious is in fact reversed, how do you suppose I can go about "fixing" it?

And since my subconscious is in fact reversed, how do you suppose I can go about "fixing" it? As to your first question, not all hypnotists are equal, any more than those in other professions are equal in skills, but the short answer is "Yes" if they know what they are doing and you cooperate. Doing it alone is again a mute point that doesn't deserve just a yes or no, it depends on the complexity of what you want. Forget tapes unless you have time to spare, in which case buy some and try them. My guess is, you will get little result, but some find that tapes work for them. On your own you ask? Well again, if you have time to spare and take a good course, yes you can. For my money however, by far the best is to find a first class professional, and book a session or two. It costs, but if you get the right one, it will pay big dividends. By the way, most if not all persons have the same problems as you do, and live with them, but at a lesser level than if they had done something to change. You at least are looking in the right direction. For assistance, look in the yellow pages, or search for guilds, associations, or societies, and ask for a member list or directions to a practitioner in your area.

Thanks, Terry. I will be sure to look around for some good hypnotists in my area.
