Does anyone know about the technology designed to induce trance on its own? I have heard a bit about it, and want to learn more.
There is a difference between trance and hypnosis.
There are numerous technologies that produce trance on their own. They have been known for about 10,000 years, give or take. Others are more modern.
What do you want to know about them?

Well, to be blunt, everything. More specifically, how they work, and why. Thank you :)
Trance is easily induced by repetition. Drumming, flashing lights, repetitive sounds and/or frequencies, have all been used. Do web searches and use the library to find information on shamanic drumming, mind machines, and the infamous dream machine.

Sitting on a bus works for me. How and why, I know not.

Sitting on a bus works for me. How and why, I know not.One theory is that it reminds us of being cradled by our mothers. Others say it's prenatal in origin.
Actually, there's a whole modern musical genre designed to induce trance, called (wait for it) trance! I love being on a packed, sweaty dancefloor with hundreds of similar idiots all vibing to the beat, drugs or no. My back disagrees, however!

That must be why I keep staring longingly at beautiful women who also sit on buses.

I was a raver for a few years.
