If you are having technical problems with the forum, please post an explanation of the problem as a reply to this thread.
Thank you,

Hi Matt,
This is getting more hilarious by the minute :) ...
after writing a Post for an hour, I went to Preview it. The message said: " The following errors occurred when this message was submitted.
You have included too many images in your signature or in your previous post. Please go back and correct the problem and then continue again. Images include use of smilies, the vB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator. "
so, reading the FAQ for the 2nd. time, I printed-out the entire 6-pages of the "vB Code" instructions I must be able to command in order to participate here. Then, I went back over my post and tried to insert all these "vB"-phrases I remain fairly clueless about; but that attempt failed in being accepted, also.
so, undaunted - I spent a few more hours reading thru all the other posts of Instructions about how to get something posted here; and tried it for a 3rd. time. It keeps sending me the same message; so - I have no idea how to proceed from here.
Please tell me there is another simpler option for posting here , Matt :)

oh, in reading this over, the thought occurred to me that you may respond with "Well, some of your posts are being accepted, so what did you do differently in the Post in question ?"
Several things :
1. I inserted Merlin's web-reference (not her Personal site with her red eyes)
2. I attempted quoting Joe from the soon-to-be Old Forum Archive.
3. and it was about 3-times as long as my current post.

Hi Annie,
You ask is there a simpler option for posting here, and the answer is posting is done in two ways. By the way and I know you pointed this out, you are posting here in this forum. I can see the posts, so I know you can do it. Technically speaking, there are two ways to post, by Post Reply and Quick Reply. In my opinion, the quick reply option is the easiest posting option on any forum. So I personally can’t make it any easier.
You posted that you got an error message, and I will start by explaining that. Users have the ability here in the new forum to post graphics into their messages. The upside is that you are able to add pictures, graphics, smiles, etc.. However, the downside is that some users who may be on dial-up would have to download them all. When I travel, I am on dial-up, and if someone posted a ridicules amount of graphics into a post, I would get frustrated.
Therefore, I have gone with the default limit on graphic posting. That is exactly what your message said: “You have included too many images in your signature or in your previous post.” Images include smiley faces. The maximum anyone gets to post is four (4). :(   Any more than that and you will not be able to post it.
Along the same lines, there is a limit on number of text charters. The limit is 20,000 characters. Any longer than that and you will get a message that your post is too long. Just to put it in context, 20,000 charters is approximately 4000 words, so I don’t think many will hit that limit. This post only has 1500 charters including spaces.
Lesson is that we need to limit the use of graphics including smiles. By the way, if enough people want to use alot of graphics, I will increase the limit (I am flexible). So let’s see what other have to say.
Hope this helps!
Matt

Hi Matt,
Thank you for your explanations. And yes, I have been informed previously by other posters that I am using an excessive amount of " :D, :) ... " these sorts of *Happy critter*-communications. Please forgive me, but that is how I choose living my daily (off-line) life, as well : I love greeting people with a genuinely :)-smiling face, and heap lotsa :D praise unto others, generally. I find there is not enough of this sort of thing going on, if you know what I mean.

Well obviously yes, but the only things I had done "differently" in the 1 post in question yesterday were the 3-items I mentioned; so - after all of my independent researching to resolve the challenge, I decided to finally "ask the Expert : You " !

Yes, well - I have been watching our Highly-esteemed Merlin here, as I respect *how well she gets her points across with a minimum of written words* !
While speaking, I tend to be much better at this skill than when I am writing. That is because I feel *more confident* Speaking than (writing, unless I am participating in a Group of *mutual respect*).
Thank you for your generous time in addressing my question,
Annie

Hi Annie,
You do fine with the written ;), and regarding the limits, I have 20 page papers I wrote for my undergraduate degree that are under 20,000 charters, so I hope 20,000 is enough! :D. I have never seen a post on the old forum that would take up 20 pages, so I felt comfortable with this setting.
