I was just wondering what kind of timeframe one would say is adequate to learn to be a hypnotherapy practitioner? And what kind of costs would be considered reasonable to undergo such training.

I'm in Australia, so obviously my options will be reasonably limited, but here is one that caught my eye, however it says that only 8 days of the training are face-to-face, ....

It appears that they offer a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy, and while the course totals 1100 hours, the actual formal classroom training is a meer 170 hours, do you guys think this is adequate?

Mere hours do not equal excellence in training. Who are the trainers, what are their backgrounds, experience, what are their graduates doing (or not doing), what's the curriculum? The NGH (America's National Guild of Hypnotists) says that 100 hours of classroom training is sufficient to be recognized as a professional.

Contact some of their graduates and find out if they felt competent and ready to get out there and do, after the training.
