When I was 17 I was in a car crash, it seemed to last about 30 seconds, the police said from the state of the car, and the tracks I left, it would've lasted maybe 5 seconds max. In this time, I reacted well enough to save my own life, and my passengers life, and up until recently had always wondered what had happened for everything to seem so slow.

I actively train in martial arts, and work as a bouncer, but am scared of fighting. 2 weeks ago I was in an altercation, one that lasted about 30 seconds, it seemed to last forever, apparently I fought incredibly, and after seeing the security tapes I couldn't believe myself.

After talking to my boss about it, who is a retired professional fighter, he explained that when you are backed into a corner, everything slows down, you have time to react, you see every punch coming, and have all the time in the world.

He said that after years of training, you are able to turn this on and off, but basically i'm scared it wont work next time, I'm still somewhat scared of fighting. Basically I'm wondering if a hypnotherapist would be able to set up some form of trigger to allow me to switch this on and off. I'd also like to not be scared of fighting, I wasnt when I was younger, but after a violent mugging when I was 17 it's been a fear of mine.

By the way, I'm not wanting this so that I can start fights, It's just fights often happen on my job, and this is something I need to get past, I'm also soon to be a police officer, so It would ofcourse come in very handy.

Any competent hypnotist/hypnotherapist can rid you of fears/phobias. I must say though that NLP is much, much faster. We are all born with two natural fears -- being dropped and loud noises. All the remainder are learned behaviour and that which we learn can be "unlearned" just as well.

As for time distortion, it is quite normal.

Be well,

There are lots of cool uses for time distortion, and yes, we can influence our perceptions of the passage of time. Hypnotically, and otherwise. We do it all the time, naturally. Ever been waiting in a long check out line? And time seems to s-t-r-e-t-c-h out! Endless boredom. Or been involved in a lively chat with a friend and realize that 2 hours have passed and you're sure it can't have been more than 30 minutes...those effects are common!

I was talking to a kid the other day (a baseball player). He wanted time distortion so that he would have more time to evaluate the pitches coming at him and improve his hitting. Very doable!!

at a young age, we learn to perceive time in a certain way. It is what is convenient for us.
we can change that with a hypnotist's help. We can switch to almost any perception for any unit time (second/minute/etc.)
