It is possible to enter hypnosis just by reading a choice few words?

Would there be any merit in writing an entire book which uses hypnosis to achieve X? Does a book like this already exist?

If it doesn't, imagine what it could do. Do you like reading romance, horror, or thrillers? What if you could experience a story like this under hypnosis? I expect it would be possible to achieve much more profound emotional responses, and would be a lot of fun.

It could be used for hypnotherapy too, but it would allow the hypnotist to plan out sessions more fully, and have more complete sessions. Right?

Think about a childs story...children can become so entranced when someone reads a good story to them.

My understanding is that people do enter a light hypnotic trance while reading, and listening to music (why else the proliferation of hypnosis CDs?), and watching tv and movies. Ever been to an on-fire, gospel revival meeting? A dynamic sales convention? How about an exciting football game?

Sometimes I wonder if we're ever out of trance...

Have you ever read a book (novel - romance, horror, thriller, sci-fi) wherein you totally identified with a character in that book and was so asorbed in that book that you took on the feelings, etc. of that character in that novel? Have you ever believed it is possible to "Beam me up Scottie"?

That is a classic little devious definition of "Deep Trance Identification". When it is done in a hypnosis setting with a well trained and qualified hypnotist/hypnotherapist one brings back a "learning" from the DTI.

This goes for movies too.

How specifically would this help us? Not at all that I can see.

Children's stories are usually isomorphic metamuffins.
