Hi, A big thank you to all at hypnosis forum for all you are doing. I get this feeling that i am really going to be reproached for my question however with that fear im still going to try. please forgive me.
Those that are in faraway countries from you and have no money may hope that u may have some ways to assist them at least in some aspects.
do you think that it will help if one plays a personal development cd while they are asleep ?
sometimes when one is on their own and do not have the make up to motivate themselves to concentrate and fulfil requirements that are necessary for self hypnosis, it would be great if they could play a cd while they are asleep and at least in the beginning by doing this develop some enthusiasm and interest in moving forward.
i beg for your forgiveness again if you feel that i am indolent.
thank you

What a lovely sentiment. Yes, people in undeveloped countries that don't have money should have access to hypnosis, the same as they should have access to food, health care and decent living conditions. They should have these things even in the USA but often don't.
There is only one problem with your idea. If you would have read Merlin's FAQ you would have known. Hypnosis CD's stand a very, very small chance of working. There are many reasons for this 1. not all inductions work on everyone, 2. the person listening to the CD is a very unique individual and has their own reasons why and why not to do something.
And, lastly, if one is asleep, little (nothing) is going in.
I know there is NLP and hypnosis in many, many countries around the world.
Perhaps if you can find more like minded people like yourself that want to learn hypnosis, then an instructor could appear and teach you all without leaving you with zero money.
Be well~Pood

TV commercials are designed to be persuasive.
yet people fall asleep watching TV
does it work for them?
does such a person buy dozens of cars they don't want? no
it simply doesn't work.
Merlin,
the problem with cars is they are expensive:)
People buy tons of garbage food and they don't have the need. Sometimes advertisment is very persuasive, especially when he speaks in evolutionary terms...

If one lives in the USA we are totally splattered with drug company ads on TV. They start out really great -- If you have A, B and maybe even C, then you need to ask your Dr. about "drug name". Side effects: are blank, blank, blank, blank, blank, blank and death.
Oh yeah. I really want death so I'll be sure to ask my Dr. about it. For what they spend on advertising dollars, they could probably cut the price of the drug in half or perhaps more. And since it often causes death where is the FDA?
This is why we have Tivo and mute buttons so we don't have to listen to garbage. Jeff Foxworthy has a really cute comedy routine on this in one of the Blue Collar Comedy shows.

So,
If you've been *hypnotised* why should cost stop you?
you buy coke and pepsi, knowing you prefer only one?
you buy doggy and kitty food, but don't have either?
Buy baseball season tickets you'll never use 'cause you can't stand the game?
Vin, how many Bras have you bought lately, expecting to be more shapely?
if you're truly suggestible while asleep, i'm sure you're answering afirmatively :)

its me again. sorry, i cant seem to go away.
if a person is given a post hypnotic suggestion to be able to receive positive suggestions while asleep, think this may work.
thank you

Pood, is it just me or do most if not all of the commercials state Diarrhea as being one of the side effects? Great placebo work going on.
Not necessarily. A "law" of traditional Chinese medicine is that "Excess yin produces yin. Excess yang produces yang." Therefore, it follows that if you have diarrhea, some items which would normally cause diarrhea will take you over the edge and end the diarrhea. Therefore, if a substance can treat Y but is also used to fight diarrhea, it might cause diarrhea in someone who is taking it for a different symptom.
I know that sounds like mumbo-jumbo, but remember, the flu vaccine they give every year is nothing but a form of the flu which causes us to produce antibodies to the flu (preventing us from getting it) without manifesting the symptoms. Don't take my word for it--check it out yourself.

they put the wrong "strain" of the flu in this year's flu shot so it was just wasted money.
While "confined", Nurse Ratchett brings me a flu shot. I told her to go away. I already had one. The next morning my Dr. comes in and I ask him if "they" should ask people first. He got a very strange look on his face and said -- RU sure it wasn't a pneumonia shot? I said - very sure. She definitely said flu. He fled the room for a few minutes. The pneumonia shot was then ordered. I wonder what would happen to an elderly person that does not have an darn good memory.
