I was wondering if it is possible for a regular hypnotist to help someone with a very good, but slightly fading, memory recall certain memories as vividly as they once could, or possibly can, outside of a session through programmed triggers, like sitting in a dark room, holding a pice of paper with the memory that person wants to recall written on it. Has anything like this ever been done, and would it take many sessions?

Yes

>Has anything like this ever been done,

Yes

>and would it take many sessions?

Typically, no
But that depends on the hypnotist and the client.

Hi everybody

Great problem !

My girlfriend missed her passport !

I`m a G.P doctor and I have some experience in hypnosis ( not as goood as you all ) , my experiences limit to alleviating pain and stresses of my patients on special cases.
But I hypnotized my girl friend 3 times for her migraine headache but , by telephone line ! ( she lives farfrom me ) . She had average hypnotic scor ( about 7 ) and responded good to suggestions .

Last night we decided to do hypnosis for memory collection .
She saw her passport 3 months ago and could`nt remember exactly when and where !
I performed a progressive relaxationinduction and a staircase for deepening .
she responded well and then I tried to visualized the day she saw the passport for the last time . she was in trance and responded verbaly ... then I got nothing !
Because respons to every question I asked was : I don`t know . ( I a tranced like voice ) .
How and wich technique I can help her to achieve memory collection?

One thing more : she experiences post hypnotic amnesia (without any amnestic suggestion ) and every time could remember very little about hypnotic session .

Please help me .

Thanks

sam

Try playing 20 questions with yes/no ideomotor responses.

Is the PP in the house?
Is the PP in the kitchen?
Is the PP in the dining rm.?

etc.

Sam,

One thing I like to do is to use visualization of the last remembered time, and let them 'live' on 'fast forward' until they re-experience a 'forgotten' time that the PP was part of.

If that doesnt work, I will ask the unconscious to, post hypnotically, recall it and to bring its location to conscious attention, installing some sense of urgency to the task, and then wake her up and take up normal activities. Most often she will, in the next day or so, 'accidentally' open a drawer or some such, and there it is. If the PP isnt in the house, she may feel a need to visit someone for no apparent reason, etc, so be aware. (This is the technique I use most often with myself, I just turn it over to the UC, installing a sense of need or urgency, and then continue with my life trusting that it will happen.)

Keep in mind that is it possible the unconscious doesnt know. I know given a PP it is a bit unlikely but possible. And if the UC doesnt know ...

cheers,

I just remembered something. Back at home there was this old tradition of tying a knot out of something in the house when you can't remember where you've put it, like a bed sheet or something, and then opening the knot whenever you find it.

Young people don't believe in this stuff anymore but I know this one person who still uses it and I always used to tease her.

But then it occurred to me that maybe she anchors the state of remembering to tying a knot.

Now since your girlfriend is not a guy, whom are programmed not to find anything:D and hence she is not hopeless:D , she probably already has a system of remembering where she puts stuff so I guess you could use it.
