Hello, do You agree with me, that the concentration of religious prayer is very similar (at least) to hypnotic session. I tend to think, that all "miracles of the Lord" come actually true trough trance and hypnosis. It is our own belief, that makes things go well. I think, hypnotists are those, who know the art of praying. They know how exactly to pray ones subconcious mind, to get the result that is desired. Do You agree?

I think prayer is more like reiki, which is a channeling and focusing of positive energy.

I have yet to see a hypnotist walk on water.

Prayer? In order to get results from prayer one needs the faith nescessary to pray is all. To practise Hypnosis requires knowledge, skill and talent from constant practise. I see little similarity though I practise Faith Healing as well as Hypnosis....
As for walking on water, I do it every year, often several times a year. so far though I have not tried walking on fire. That I reserve for later... My next walk on water will be in February if anyone is interested. I will be accompanied by fishing tackle, but the fish tent rotted a couple of years ago and we have not replaced it.....

I have yet to see a hypnotist walk on water.

I walk on water almost every weekend. The fact there is a boat floor between my feet & the water is just a minor detail that isn't even worth mentioning.

As for religious prayer being hypnosis?
I don't think so Tim.... (ok.. old home improvment TV show quote for those that think i've lost the plot)

You are partially right. There is an element of self-hypnosis in fervent prayer, particularly repeated mantras, as there is in, for instance, listening to a great orator, or even watching an absorbing movie.

However, few people who pray have any idea about how how to achieve a resolution to their problem other than merely asking for it or making positive affirmations. Hypnotherapy is a little more complex.
