Hello, i am new here and happened to read your posts about scripts. I go to a therapist who uses scripts and found out that at least one of those scripts is availeable on this forum page even. I dont know, what to think. Does this mean, that he is not a good professional? Thanks.

The bottom line for you should be: how's it working? :) What are your results?

When you chose your hypnotherapist, did you inquire as to how long he/she has been in practice, where and when trained, references, professional organization memberships, etc? Those are always good questions.

I do have one question though, how do you know a script is being used...word for word what is on one that used to be around here? What about the induction -- was that read to you also? I once used a script from here (when we had the old Forum) to help restore hearing. It worked. It had nothing to do with the reason my client was seeing me and I just threw it in as a freebie. Since it was just a script and thrown in as a freebie I was quite amazed at how well it worked.

Did it work?
It's poor practice on the hypnotist's part, but that doesn't mean it won't work.

Since your other question was about prayer, it seems reasonable to ask, do you read prayers, or do you just talk to God in the venacular? Now just based on my own attitude, I would feel I was demeaning God by using the words of someone else to pray to him excepting only the Lord's prayer of course, which He gave us himself.
Likewise, I would feel I was demeaning a client by reading a script, but to each his own...If a practitioner lacks the imagination to come up with a personal script for the client, I am suspicious, and if they lack the ability to memorise a script first, again I am suspicious. Just sign me "suspicious"..

Words have always been free, but when one puts them together it is a different matter.

Scripts are ok for beginners and will work some of the time, if you are lucky enough to come across a client for whom that script is right, but we look for quite a bit more in hypnotherapy.
