Has anyone worked on improving the ability to spell/read correctly ( alexia ) using NLP and/or hypnosis ?

if yes , what's your feedback ?

bringing this topic back again
I was speaking with my friend who has dyslexia , and she's saying it's biological disfunction of the brain , where not enough oxygen gets to certain parts of it

I would like to hear if anyone worked with such cases before , is it biological ?
and if so , can it be improved using NLP ?

Maybe that is the case in the way she uses her body and brain til now.. if and what a biological disfunction really is, stands open.. if i never move my arm i won't grow muscles there.. will i ? will there be much blowflow ? not as much as there could be ..

as we all know we humans like to put labels on things ( generalize ).. so i would be more careful with that and... taking the words we "put on" reality as real is what gets many people in trouble.. having dyslexia is kinda like a baby not beeing able to walk after falling 100 times.. and then all the "knowing" people telling the baby it must be genetical.. so the baby gives up.. some people need to learn to walk with their brain... after all.. a baby can copy what the adults do by seeing how it's done.. that's a little more complicated with brain tasks though.. isn't that whats NLP is about ? telling people how to fly with their brains ? ;)

Moe,

Hypnosis and NLP may both be used to provide enhanced learning for anyone.
>where not enough oxygen gets to certain parts of it

*if* that were true, then one could teach a different part of the brain to do the work instead.

>is it biological ?
some researchers think so.
But the brain is vast, and can be taught differently.

>can it be improved using NLP ?
if there is any functionality, then it can be improved.

I have used NLP and Time Line Therapy with many, many students with dyslexia with most excellent results. Many times the student also has ADD or ADHD and the results have been equally impressive too.

For dyslexia, you first of all, need to know that the student is probably above average in intelligence, etc. What dyslexia is, is using an inappropriate representational system for storing information. (EG: Using kinesthetic to store visual spelling information, which should be Visual.) So, the first thing you need to do is to teach the student to use Visual to store Visual information.

One child in Melbourne was spelling Visually forward and backward (the test for Visual spelling) within 1/2 hour. He had never gotten more than 20% of his words right on a spelling test, ever. After learning the visual spelling strategy he got 100% on his next 2 tests, and stayed up there afterward.

ADD and ADHD are cleared up by using peripheral vision.

All of this is outlined on the NLP Practitioner CD set that we sell.

Moe, I promise this is easy stuff. Learn it and you will look like a magician.

Remember, have fun!

That's exactly what I thought,
this is also what Connirae and Steve Andreas mention in "Heart of the Mind"

I'm very interested in learning more and more , I'm waiting for an information packet that Candace Valdez from your company sent to arrive in the mail

Thanks!

Dr Tad

in your opinion , what would be the best ways to start learning ?

I bought some books ( Structure of Magic, Heart of the Mind, My voice will go with you, NLP The new technology, Patterns of the Hypnotic Techniques of Milton H. Erickson ) and started reading in it , along with many articles online

I have exams coming in Jun, so won't be able to attend any kind of training before jul/aug

I would like to hear your suggestions

Thanks
