Hi,

I'm just starting to explore hypnosis. I would like to try it for weight loss, but there are soooo many offers on the internet. Will any of you give me advice on the best way to go about this? One webstie is Hypnosis Downloads.com which offers downloads as very reasonable prices ($8.95). Another one I found is Weight Loss Hynotizer which is quite a bit more expensive ($69). Do you believe these programs are worth looking into? Any advice on programs you have used would be great!

Thanks, Felicia

They might work for you. There's no way to tell. those are generic items and you're a specific person.

My advice is to contact a professional hypnotist in your area. I think that would really help you.

I have tried a couple of the downloads from hypnosis downloads. Let's face it, they are very reasonably priced and the quality of the recordings is good. So it may be worth a try for the sake of a small outlay.

Although be warned, if you're not British - the voice on the recordings is British (more specifically English). I'm English myself, and I found the way the guy pauses at very strange times to be extremely irritating. It's a shame because his colleague (who is Scottish) is excellent, but seems to be used very little on the downloads.

But, as Don says... you can't beat the real thing. Having a session tailored to your needs, and also an induction that will take into account your personal reaction to it, is much more effective.

When tapes are cheap enough, and under nine dollars is very cheap, it would seem a good gamble to try it first. However, it should never be thought of as hypnotherapy, but rather as using hypnotic techniques. This means that if it fails, as it is likely to do, the user need not feel that hypnosis didn't work, and never try using a therapist,,,,,....Tapes don't pre interview, ask questions, or make changes according to YOUR need, that is not the intent of tapes, they are a cheap way to help a few of those who purchase them....
