Hi all,
I just found this guy while I was aimlessly surfing.
http://www.persuasion-skills.co.uk
Check it out and tell me what you think.
I feel he seems fairly on to it, but he also claims to do a whole lot of stuff that is pretty much accepted (on this board) as impossible. Using NLP, waking hypnosis etc in everyday life for personal gain etc etc. Which is perfectly legit but some of it smacks of Derren Brown. (Oh no did I say that name!:) )
Whats you're thoughts??

Whats you're thoughts??The frist question I always ask myself when I see things like this is: why are they selling it and not just getting stinking rich with it?

And after skimming through some of the articles on his site, my second question is whether he knows that Word has a grammar checker.
Hello Pdrive,
It's strange that Mr Hogan says 'everything I do is ethical': I wonder what his definition of ethics is?
I remember meeting a car salesman some time ago who did his best to establish rapport with me and having failed (since when buying a car I prefer to be left alone) then attempted to perform a handshake interrupt. I ignored it, and then did the same to him whilst he was trying to understand why his interrupt hadn't worked. He was, for around a minute or so unable to speak coherently since I had mentioned that he would not be able to. Now, ethically, I personally would not have done this to a stranger but I felt justified since he was attempting to take advantage of me.
Even in this situation I would still maintain that unless a subject is willing to allow it on some level neither NLP or hypnosis is effective. I was not party to the meanderings of the salesman's psyche so I have no idea why he would have been willing, but willing he was.

Hi, Pdrive,
As I posted elsewhere under "what we can and cannot do,"
"We cannot rate hypnotherapists in your area."
Nor can we rate hypnosis websites as being good, bad, or other.
Strictly on a legal sense, by giving the person's name and website, if anyone says something the person doesn't like we could face a potential lawsuit. Therefore, let me repeat that any statements made by posters concerning the website and person named are the personal opinions of the posters and do not represent the opinions of this forum.
So Pdrive, if you'd like to start a new thread to discuss elements claimed on a website, I think that would be great!

Hi guys
As it's my site were discussing, perhaps I can say a few words!
Firstly the Derren Brown stuff.
Derren Brown is a magician and use the tools of a magician to achieve his effects.
I learnt hypnosis and NLP and everything I have written in the articles you can achieve with hypnosis and NLP. In fact everything I've written in the articles I've then gone on to explain, and I feel most hypnotists and NLP'ers would agree that you can put someone into a trance with a handshake interrupt and then create a trigger word to return that person to a trance...
Secondly, the stinking rich stuff.
Firstly I don't claim to make anyone a sex god or a millionaire, what I do say is that learning these skills can be useful when applied in business and personal life.
I'm not a millionaire or claim to be, am I successful in my career - yes, do I have a great relationship -yes, will I become a millionaire- who knows? There's a lot more to becoming a millionaire than persuasive skills - you have to be prepared to work hard and possibly make sacrifices. I have a balance in my life where I'm enjoy my work and my personal life!
Ethics

As for ethics
I think this thread might clear up where I stand on the issue...
You might also notice that I'm running a charity seminar -is that to offset the Guilt, or maybe I believe what goes around, comes around...
Grammar Check
Hey, I'm not perfect, I only got a "B" at A Level English, and I studied Business and Economics at University, I use voice recognition software to type my articles, maybe I should proof read a little more often!
I started Persuasion Skills three years ago, and all I can say is, that the people who have come on my courses, seem to like what I teach, and at the end of the day, that's what's most important to me...
Hope that helps
Regards
Marc

Marc,
Whose voice recognition software do you use? I use Dargon Speak, and sometimes I wonder, it seems to take as much time editing as it would have to do without. But it is supposed to learn everytime, so theoretically it gets better.
I personally wouldnt worry too much about the grammaranals. The product either speaks for itsself, or it doesnt. If all they can knock you on is grammar, then they are stretching, eh? BUT it does reflect on you and your professionalism. I have found that I cant effectively review it myself. It takes someone else to really do a good job editing.

Hi Skip
I also use dragon, It definitely does get better the more you use it, and it also works better when you upgrade to a fast computer!!
As for the grammatical errors - your completly right - I'm always missing my mistakes - will have to hire a new proof reader!!
I'm in the middle of writing the book - I dread to think what ghastly errors may be found!!
all the best
Marc
