I am not currently practicing except in special circumstances and need to refer a client to someone in the Long Beach CA area. A former client from about 15 years ago who is representing her son has contacted me. The presenting problem is weight loss as recommended by his physician. The client has conferred with his physician and his Doctor will give authorization and referral on his letterhead. He has Medicare as hit primary insurance and Blue Cross as a secondary insurance.

The client is a 45yr old male with Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) and has lost one leg from the knee down due to constricted circulation. He has experienced Gran Mal seizures in the past but is currently on medication and has not had one in 18 months. I do not know what additional medications he is currently taking but I due know that he attends a pain clinic. The clients weight is causing problems with his stump and his prosthesis and his Doctor has insisted that he lose weight. The client gets around in a wheelchair but is not currently getting enough exercise to affect his weight. In addition, he lost his job due to the problems of the stump, which included surgery.

Do any of you professionals know of someone who I could refer this gentleman to? I am not currently in a position to take on this client but said that I would request help on the forum.

We cannot recommend a hypnotherapist or NLP practitioners in your area. That's not our focus. If you're looking for someone, we suggest that you contact either the American Board of Hypnotherapy by sending an email to aih@ix.netcom.com or the National Guild of Hypnotists at https://www.ngh.net/referral.htm

Any recommendations given here are totally from the person recommending them and may or may not represent the owners of this forum.

Kona, your "send email to user" option is turned off, but I can recommend someone who has a lot of experience both in pain management and in weight loss, who can likely help this man out.
