This is my first post here. A couple of you may recognize me from...elsewhere :)

I am essentially just starting out with NLP. Don't really know much of what I'm doing. I'm experimenting with Anchors and subliminal messages and so on.

Do you guys have some advice you'd like to share with a noob on said topic? Some preliminary pointers in the right direction?

It's all appreciated! Thanks,

e

Sure!

Spend a week and go to an in-person training.

By your post you seem to be making the assumption that NLP is simply a name covering a bunch of separate and isolated concepts and practices. Each one can be isolated and worked with apart from everything else.

In this case, you're assuming that the use of anchors is like the use of a fuel injector. You can check it out, clean it, make sure it's up to all the factory specs, and it never has to be in the engine.

I would submit to you that NLP is not that way. All of its aspects are interconnected. There is a term, "synergy," which means that two or more discrete influences or agents acting together create an effect greater than that predicted by knowing only the separate effects of the individual agents.

By avoiding the training, you'll be missing the synergistic aspects of NLP. You won't receive the unconscious trainings. When you are not as successful as you wish, you'll come up with all sorts of explanations, all of which will be rationalizations to excuse your lack of training.

So if you want to screw around, learn about anchors rather than successfully use them, then by all means search the internet, get some CDs off of eBay, and read some books.

If you want to learn NLP and be able to make anchors work, go to an in-person training.

The choice is yours.

Welcome! Just which type of anchors did you have in mind? You need to understand from the get-go that you are totally full of all kinds of anchors that have happened over the years.

As Don said: Go to a live training. Other than learning, it's just a heck of a lot of fun!

Now we come to subliminal messages. Again you don't state what kind. It's a proven fact that the auditory ones don't work so you can forget about them. The visuals have shown some success IF correctly done.

Read the back pages and if you find any more items that tickle your fancy, let us know.

Stay well,

in which sense of the word?

Slang - female - you bet and drop dead gorgeous too

Normal - as in wide or hefty -- I seriously doubt it.

The last time I was called a broad was when I was over seas.

Or perhaps the question took in too much scope and ought be refined a bit.

Don't you just love linguistic ambiguity?
