Hello everyone, happy new year. I have been reading a lot books about hypnosis lately, it makes my head spin. I have many questions about the Hypnosis and I will try to sort it out and make my questions make more sense... :p

Does emotion/feeling alter how are we making decision? does it change the process? Does it change the CF? The reason for this question is that when we are in the bad mood or very upset, we are more likely to make major mistake. Is emotion/feeling controled by concious mind? If so, why are we make bad decision when we are really upset? If not, then why CF did not reject the bad decision before it happen? Bottom line is "Will emotion/feeling change any suggestion that planned by Hypnosis process?" , and why so?

Thank you for your reply...:)

Hi Bigdog,

>> Does emotion/feeling alter how are we making decision?

Yes

>> does it change the process? Does it change the CF?

You might say it creates the outcome

>> The reason for this question is that when we are in the bad mood or very upset, we are more likely to make major mistake. Is emotion/feeling controled by concious mind?

By CF, I am assumiong that you mean the "critical faculty", that part that assess incoming input to determine whether it is valid according to the belief system of the individual. Suppose that critical faculty works from both directions? Suppose that feelings coming up from the emotions, that will be expressed, are first passed through CF for determination on how to alter the expression so that it is more socially acceptable. Now suppose the CF is either "bypassed" by intense emotion boiling up, or, just doesn't function well in an individual. If CF doesn't function well, that individual will be very "suggestible" to input coming in, and, will react in what we consider an emotional manner, without regard to the results of the reaction.

Not if the hypnosis is successful !

Hello,

I hope to share in support of EC, but possibly with another viewpoint.

>I have been reading a lot books about hypnosis lately,

kewl

>it makes my head spin...

dizzy?

>Does emotion/feeling alter how are we making decision?

Emotion/feeling is an integral part of the thought process.

>does it change the process?

yes. but only because it is (part of) the process

>Does it change the CF?

No, not really

>The reason for this question is that when we are in the bad mood or very upset, we are more likely to make major mistake.

During the emotional response, as a part of the emotional response, there are chemicals released from the brain. Those chemicals may not be around in nearly the amount when less emotionally responding. The chemicals are an integral part of thought/response.

>Is emotion/feeling controled by concious mind?

not well

>If so, why are we make bad decision when we are really upset?

not everyone does.
Some people make bad decisions when upset. It's not a requirement. It's just likely a change in viewpoint or priority.

>If not, then why CF did not reject the bad decision before it happen?

Did the decision violate current beliefs under these circumstances?

>Bottom line is "Will emotion/feeling change any suggestion that planned by Hypnosis process?"

Yes.
Emotion/feeling is a part of 'thought'
But the hypnotist should understand this and compensate during suggestions.
