sounds like a dumb question, and i'm not really interested in doing it, more on the idea.
the other day my friend and i were talking about video games, and we came to the conclusion that there are really only a tiny handful of excellent games in the past 10 or so years. he said that it'd be nice if he could just erase his memory to play them again..
not that we'd do that, but it's kinda a cool idea. possible? i'd think so, but does anyone have any idea how to go about doing it?
Yes, you can, but no reputable hypnotherapist would.

yes. however the memory wouldn't be lost.. since probably everything which ever was perceived by your senses is stored in your brain.. you would need a brainsurgeon to really.. "lose" the memory ;)

a brainsurgeon can help 'lose' memory? hey~ that's something new!
i mean, they could cut out certain sensory parts or certain stems that perhaps hold memories, but 'one particular memory'? lol(sry not intended to sound sarcastic if misunderstandly percieved that way)
Jack, if its possible, why won't any hypnotist do it then?
anyway, how is it done? like, yeah you get hypnotized, u maybe come out w/it forgotten. whats the science behind this? how the hypnotist make that person forget it?
Some will. No reputable one will because it is only the emotions attached to memories that an hypnotherapist would try to either remove or lessen in intensity.
For instance, if someone had been raped an hypnotherapist could remove the emotion - the guilt, the fear - from the memory but removing the memory might leave the person vulnerable to the same situation which precipitated the rape.

It's possible to explode a nuclear bomb over a major city, but no responsible person would do that.
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

The replies you have been given to date are correct, in that they replied to your post as asked....I believe what you really wanted to know, is if you can restore the excitement in an old game that you had wnen first you played it. That of course is only a guess, since it bears no relationship to the post you started this thread with :) the answer is "yes," but the cost would be prohibitive so I doubt you would do it......Now you get this reply from a crusty old bugger, who is trying to be nice over Christmas, so be grateful (EG)......Next time you ask a question, and really mean something else, I will likely tear you limb from limb  Merry Christmas.....
Oh yes, the cost of your desire would be $500.00 if you used my services. I charge extra for silly requests.....

so you'd enjoy it as much as the first couple times? and would this new enjoyment fade as well?

haha funny Terry.. i mean.... sir :o
sory about the late responce, i've been down and out for quite a while.
i suppose any confusion would have been over the fact that it's the story that i want to re-experience, not the fun aspect of a mindless game.
i suppose i should have phrased it in a way of re-reading a book. giving yourself amnesia of a story, so that you can read it all again.
once again, i'm not saying i'm going to do this, i'm just curious.
