I was "surfing the web" and just happened to come across quite a few articles on "Alert Hypnosis" that I thought some might be interested in. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa4087/is_200604//ai_n17188642/pg_1

So?
When i'm curious, i search google, yahoo, etc.
What are your thoughts on what you posted?
Can you share your thoughts rather than just spam us?

:) Dear Marilyn, I' m sorry, I'm really not spamming anyone. I realize there are too many advertisements on the pages that the articles are on. For the last few years I've been a member of these forums and quite often discussed Relaxation and asked you about it in a former post (a few years ago). I found the articles interesting because they show some good work being done without Relaxation and I was so fascinated by what I read that I wanted to share it with other people interested in Hypnosis.

I know you had no intention to "spam", just pass on some information you found interesting. Fact is NLP is "alert hypnosis" or "waking hypnosis" as no official trance state is induced. It happens a lot naturally too.

Now you can go back to that other place and tell them you know people that know all about it and train it, etc., etc., etc.

Be well,
Pood

PS -- Marilyn is our "Merlin". Read carefully now. :)

It seems to be another name for "Waking Hypnosis." I was trained in that over 20 years ago.

So what questions do you have about it? Indeed, many people have posted here that although relaxation is often used as a precursor to hypnosis, the two are not the same and one is not necessary for the other. The adoption of suggestions depends upon the skills of the hypnotist.

"Alert Hypnosis", sounds like it was named by someone who knows very little about hypnosis per se.... :)

Then again, so was hypnosis

to Merlin for mis-spelling your name and now I see it's changed like magic again to "Myhrrhliene" - thanks to Anne for reminding me.
