I'm planning on doing the TFT-method on myself, and I have the instructions already, but I have some questions regarding it anywayz..

When am I to think about the problem? And how? I tried it once, but I found it quite hard, if not impossible, to think about the problem constantly at the same time as I had to follow the instructions and tab on the right spots, etc.. Also, the number-rate were so hard because when I tried this I was not in the situation to where certain emotions would appear, I was all by myself and even the problem itself was hard to picture as a problem right then. Overall I would know that it's a 10, (on the scale from 1-10), but how is that gonna help me if I don't know, right then?

Also, what should you be thinking about? The PROBLEM, or the EMOTION? I'm all confused with this. Anyone?

Hello,

I can't speak for TFT, but with EFT there may be many aspects to the problem.
I would suggest that you choose an aspect of your problem that seems to you to be at the centre of it all and think about yourself in that aspect, making a sound movie of it if you can and experiencing whatever emotion is generated. Don't bother tapping at this point.

When you have identified the aspect of the problem you are in and when you have felt the emotion created put it on the scale of 1-10 and give it a name: for instance if the problem was lack of confidence and the aspect was blushing you might call it "Red" and the intensity of feeling was a 9.

Then tap on the word "red" without attempting to think of the problem or the aspect, just think the word "red" and your subconscious mind will know what you mean.

Do several rounds of tapping until the original intensity is reduced to a 1 or 2, then leave it alone for a while. Later, tap again and reduce it to a zero.

Do this for all the aspects of the problem you can think of.
